Welcome,

The 2007-2008 New Hampshire legislative session has been historic in many ways—passing an honest, balanced budget, banning smoking in public places, raising the minimum wage and working hard to define and cost an adequate education—New Hampshire Democrats have focused on the big issues and will come out of this session with much to be proud of.

And we owe it all to the support of friends like you. But we have some good news and some bad news for you.

Bad news first: without the resources we need, we could easily find ourselves back in the minority. While no one wants that to happen, it is a plain and simple fact that the Republicans are sharpening their attacks and building their organization in an effort to regain the majority. They’re not used to not being in charge in Concord and, frankly, they just don’t like it. Who can blame them?

The good news, however, is that we can expand our majority in the 2008 election. That’s right. We can gain seats, but only with your help.

We have already started identifying vulnerable Republican seats that we can pick up in November. But this will only happen if we have the resources necessary to defend our own seats first, and then to play offense in some areas where Democrats have slowly started to gain strength.

That’s where all of you come in. We are asking you to contribute to the Committee to Elect House Democrats right now. Whether you can give $10 or a $1000, your contribution is vitally important.

The Committee to Elect House Democrats is looking forward to not only helping all of our state reps win re-election this fall, but to bring new members into our majority. To this end, we will be recruiting top-notch candidates across the state, working with vulnerable reps to ensure their re-election, and training new candidates for the challenging task of running for state rep. With your contribution, you can be part of this effort.

Give whatever you can today. This is an effort that we all can believe in.  And just imagine what we will be able to accomplish next term.

Sincerely,

Rep. Mary Jane Wallner                                   Frank Davis
